Nov 4th, 2000: Montville
defeats Caldwell Chiefs 14-0 to Win D Title.
For the second straight year the Montville D Team coached by Sal Mastriani wins the
Montville D Invitational Tournament. Montville advanced to the finals by first
defeating Cedar Grove (12-6), then beating a tough Bloomfield team (20-12).
Matt Chierici led Montville with some outstanding rushing, scoring all three
touchdowns against Bloomfield and one touchdown rushing and one passing to beat the
Caldwell Chiefs (14-0). Ryan Ventura also ran well scoring on a 50 run which was
called back due to a offensive penalty.
