MBSA Meeting Minutes
Date: 10/02/07 – 8:30pm @Community Park Field House
Attendance: Full House

President’s Report:
• Home Run Derby presentation by Melinda Jennis (President of Pathways for Exceptional Children). Go to www.montvillepec.org or www.montvilleyouthsports.com for more information. The Home Run Derby will be held on October 13th at the Muni baseball fields.

• Elections were held for the 2008 Executive Board as well as all Directors positions. All positions were filled.

• November 10th is Fall Cleanup Day!!!

• 5th Base Update (Tom Kruger) – Construction has started. 2 new roofs have been installed (One for the Animal Shelter and one for 5th Base). Rough plumbing and electrical work is complete and the floor will be installed sometime next week.

• Brick Drive Project Update (Diana Higgins) – Currently researching vendors and number of bricks necessary to fill the patio area in front of 5th base. Will probably sell 2 different sizes (one standard size brick and other slightly larger). Our goal is get an order form out to the entire Montville Community ASAP so the patio can be installed before opening day.

Softball Report:

• 2 Motions were made and passed.
o Motion made by John Haugh and seconded by Tim Holmes and approved by unanimous vote of Directors that we investigate with Valley Umpires their interest and ability to handle both the girls in town recreation games as well as the travel games. A report will be given at the November meeting as to their interest and capabilities

o Motion made by John Haugh and seconded by Carmen Cerreto and approved by unanimous vote of the Directors to allow a second 10U Spring Travel Team given the following circumstances: 1.There are at least 12 girls interested in playing 2.There are certified coaches willing to assist and 3. That the coaches, players and parents understand that the recreation practices and games are a priority to the spring travel team and lastly 4. That all involved understand that this is solely for the 2008 season and any discussions regarding having a second travel team at any level for the following year will need again to be brought in front of the Board and voted on.

• Travel tryouts for spring are finished. In process of choosing/electing Head Coaches.

Baseball Report:
Spring Travel tryouts schedules will be out shortly. Check website for dates/times.

Treasurer’s Report:
Year end profit was $71,000. $25,000 was from fundraising.

Next meeting will be held November 6th (Tuesday) at 8:30pm. Location of meeting will be the field house at Community Park Field.
