MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date:  May 3, 2009

Attendance:  40+

Meeting called to order at 8:09pm

President’s Report:

Tonight’s meeting was mandatory for coaches to address the following issues:

§         Lights are frequently being left on, especially on Muni 2 and 3.  If it continues, games will be moved to other fields and age groups that don’t get to play at the muni’s will be switched to the muni’s.

§         Liners are being left out and get ruined in the rain.

§         Some fields are not being prepped before games.  It is the coaches’ responsibility to prep fields and not just the home team coaches.  Both coaches should help before and after the game.

§         Fields are not being raked after games.

§         Areas around the pitcher’s mound are not being cared for.  Holes that the kids dig out must be filled in at the end of each game.

§         Dug-outs need to be cleaned out after a game.  Kids should be picking up their own trash on the way out!

§         The scoreboard on Muni 2 is often left on.

§         If playing at the high school, make sure the light box is completely closed.  Lights are being turned back on by kids if box is not closed fully.

Treasurer’s Report:

•   Balances are stable.

Baseball:

Roster forms are still needed from many coaches.  They are needed for districts and must be turned in to Nick Krentz.

U10 travel baseball is hosting districts this year and will be utilizing Muni 1 and 3 the week of June 22nd.

Softball:

Michelle Fund Tournament was a huge success despite the weather.  Only games not played were championship games.  They will be played at a later date based on teams’ availability.  The tournament raised between $10,000-12,000.  Many more volunteers will be needed for next year.

U12 travel softball is hosting both districts and states this year.  Muni 2 will be utilized  the week of June 22nd -26th. Muni 2 and 3 will be utilized the week of July 6th-12th for states.

The next MBSA meeting is at Sunday, June 7th at 8pm at 5th Base.

Meeting adjourned at 8:39pm.
