MBSA Meeting Minutes 3/5/2007

Location  - Community Park Field House

Softball Report:

Upper League:

·        Currently have 3 A level teams and are looking into merging with A level teams from Lincoln Park. Currently have 6 B level teams. Have enough coaches to cover teams

Lower League:

·        100 C level registrants and 70 D level registrants. Have enough coaches to cover teams

Clinics, Tournaments & Travel Info:

·        Clinics are scheduled. See MBSA website for dates and times.

·        Michele Sullivan Tournament is sold out and ready to go

·        Travel schedules are not out yet

Baseball Report:

·        530 registrants for baseball.  There are approx. 47 teams.  Have enough coaches.

·        Draft night will be as follows:

o       3/12 – 7:30pm at Community Park Field House -9’s,

8:30pm  at Community Park Field House - Minors, Majors and Upper

o       3/14 – 7:30pm at Community Park Field House - 7’s & 8’s draft

·        Clinics are scheduled. See MBSA website for dates and times.

Treasurer’s Report:

·        End of February balance is $189,000. Latest Financial Reports available at meeting.

·        Financial Report Highlights:

o       $20,000 from sponsorship

o       $81,000 from registration

 President’s Report:

·        Coaching Certification is mandatory. Please see the latest dates and times for course and finger printing on MBSA website.

·        New 5^th Base Status

o       Township will move the animal shelter from bay 1 to bay 2 as soon as roof leak in bay 2 has been repaired. Should be done before July 1^st.

o       MBSA has found a volunteer to review contracts for new building.

o       Architectural plans have been done for new building.

·        Field Cleanup is on Saturday 3/24. Each team should send a representative. We will need around 50-75 volunteers.

o       NOTE – The MBSA will be obtaining quotes to replace tarps on all 3 fields.

·        MBSA Dinner is set for 5/19/07.  There will 350 tickets available. This will be the MBSA’s largest fundraiser and will include the following:

o       Super 50/50 ( 900 books of tickets will be distributed)

o       3 Grand Prizes – Looking for donations.

o       Approx 20 door prizes and 50/50 at the dinner 

·        Opening Day will be 4/14/07.

 ·        Next meeting is on Monday 4/9/07 at 8:00pm at the Community Park Field House.
