MBSA Meeting Minutes 3/27/2007

President’s Report:

·        Opening Day will be Saturday 4/14/07. Coaches should arrive at 9:15am so that drop-off can occur. Parents will not be able to drop-off is coach is not present. Parade will start at 10:00am

·        Picture Day will be 4/21/07 for Softball and 4/28/07 for Baseball.

·        50/50 Tickets have been distributed and are due back by 5/5/07 whether they are sold or not.

·        Spring Travel league has 69 teams and will profit approximately $12,000.

·        4^th of July Parking needs 75 volunteers to work from 9:00am to 9:00pm. More Information to come.

·        Code of Conduct forms are due back to coordinators prior to games beginning.

·        Cleanup day is this Saturday 3/31 at 9:00am. For those who have not pickup equipment you may do so also on Saturday.

·        Sponsorship is complete for teams, but is still looking for sign sponsorship.

·        Discussion took place for possibly renting fields during the day on July 23^rd & 24^th and the week of July 9^th for baseball clinics to raise money. More info to follow.

·        5^th Base Status – Support is needed from all to attend the Montville Township meeting on April 10^th at 8:00pm at Town Hall. The Township Committee will be making a final decision about the new 5^th Base Building. Please wear your MBSA apparel.

·        A number of players for softball have not been notified by managers as of 3/27.  League directors will follow-up on resolving the issue.

·        MBSA Dinner is set for 5/19/07.  There will 350 tickets available. Flyers went out through the school.

This will be the MBSA’s largest fundraiser and will include the following:

§         Super 50/50 ( 900 books of tickets will be distributed)

§         3 Grand Prizes

§         Approx 20 door prizes and 50/50 at the dinner

Softball Report:

·        Michele Sullivan Tournament is ready to go. Dates are May 4^th, 5^th and 6th

 Baseball Report:

·        Drafts and player notification are complete. Practice schedules are also complete.

Treasurer’s Report:

·         No report at this meeting.

Next meeting is on Monday 4/9/07 at 8:00pm at the Community Park Field House
