MBSA Meeting Minutes 6/1/2008

MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date: 06/01/08 – 8:00pm at 5^th Base Building

Attendance: 30 plus

President’s Report:

·         4^th of July Parking (Chris Scholmann)- Coaches need to volunteer for the 4^th of July Parking for Saturday June 28^th. There are still open slots so please contact Chris at CSchlo6436@aol.com

·         VV and Hilldale Field Report – (Tim Braden) – Hilldale will require $200,000 plus to install a retaining wall to stop the run off and that project will take some time to complete. The Valley View field will require approx $11,000 to renovate. The cost will be split by the MBSA, Michelle Sullivan Fund and the VV PTA

·        Brick Drive Report (Diana Higgins) – The Brick Drive for the 2008 season has ended. We will start to take orders for the 2009 season in January 09. We thank everyone who purchased a brick and made this drive a success. Approx. $20,000 was made.

·        Future Projects – A discussion took place to do field maintenance in August on all three Muni fields. Muni 1- new infield grass. Muni 2 and 3 need better drainage. All 3 fields need clay. New lights for Muni 1 and 2 are also needed but each set of lights will cost approx $68,000.

Softball Report:

·         The Director of softball had a prior meeting to discuss the current rules with coaches. No changes to report. Further discussions to take place.

·        Summer Travel tryouts have been completed.

Baseball Report:

·        Summer Travel tryouts have been completed.

·        Playoffs for rec baseball start Saturday June 7^th.

·        Summer Travel baseball starts 6/16 for the Cedar Grove League

·        U10 Babe Ruth Districts will be hosted at the Muni’s and will begin on June 19^th for a week. Only 1 field per day will be available for other travel games so plan accordingly.

Treasurer’s Report:

Current balance is $103,000 as of 5/31/08

Next meeting will be held in September. Check the website for date and time.
