MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date:  January 5, 2010

Attendance:  15+

 Meeting called to order at 7:31pm

 Two presentations were made at the start of the meeting. 

 *Jim Bishop of Bishop Photography presented a proposal for the MBSA pictures.  Advantages to parents include variety of product and no package purchase required- Items can be ordered individually- and pictures can be pre-ordered online. 

 *Bob Pigozzi from Frozen Ropes presented a proposal to partner up with MBSA to improve the program and potentially help the MBSA financially.  The Executive Board will discuss the many programs available to see if the arrangement would be beneficial to the MBSA.

 President’s Report: 

•Online registration notifications will be sent via email by Friday, January 8th.  2 in person dates will be available for anyone who does not want to pay by credit card.  Dates will be 1/23 and 2/6 from 10am to 12pm at 5^th base.

 Sponsors: 

• Currently have paid sponsors for 17 teams and 10 signs.  There are verbal commitments for 8 more teams and 6 more sponsors.  More are needed and forms are found on the MBSA website.

 Softball:   

•Michelle Fund is at capacity.  2 more people needed to help with pre-event work.  Contact John Hill or Bob Shalongo with interest.

 •Rec softball clinics run by MTHS Varsity Coach, John Immediato and the high school softball players, will be as follows:

March 6^th grades K-2 from 4-5:30pm, grades 3-4 from 5:30-7pm

March 13^th grades 5-8 from 4-5:30pm

March 20^th grades K-2 from 4-5:30pm, grades 3-4 from 5:30-7pm

March 27^th grades 5-8 from 4-5:30pm

All clinics will be in the high school gym.

 Baseball:

•15 teams have registered for the spring league so far.

 • Exploring possibility of running coaches and players clinics at Frozen Ropes in mid-March and having the High School coach and high school team run outside clinics in late March/early April.

 Treasurer:

• Approximately $53,500 in the account. 

 The next MBSA meeting will be Tuesday, February 2^nd at 7:30pm.
