MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date: 02/06/08 – 8:00pm @Community Park Field House

Attendance: Approx. 30 people

President’s Report:

·        Registration is low so we need to spread the word.

·        Brick Drive Project Update (Diana Higgins) – Sales are picking up. The first 35 bricks have been shipped and another order will be placed in a next few weeks. The form and online link is on the MBSA website. 

·        5^th Base Update (Tom Kruger) – Project is on schedule. The kitchen is complete. Need to tar driveway which needs to wait until early spring. Cerreto Foods will be the new food vendor for the upcoming season.

·        Sponsorship Update (Skip Breslow) – We need approx. 45 more sponsors. Forms are available on the MBSA website.

·        Field Maintenance  -  A new net will be placed between Muni 2 and the new 5^th Base to protect the area from foul balls. The cost of the net is $2200 which was approved by the board. An additional $1700 was approved to repair all the gates and fences at all 3 fields.

Softball Report:

·        No report

Baseball Report:

·        Spring Travel Tryouts for 13 & 14 year olds will be 2/23 and 3/1 from 9:00am – 12:00pm. The 13 year olds will tryout from 9:00-10:30am. The 14 year olds will tryout from 10:30 – 12:00pm

·        7-8 year old clinics will be held 3/8 and 3/15. Check MBSA website for time and location.

·        9-12 clinics dates are tentatively 3/29 & 3/30. Once confirmed, dates, times and location will be posted on MBSA website.

·        The spring drafts are scheduled for  3/6 & 3/7.

Treasurer’s Report:

·        Current balance is approx. $82,000. Most of the money is coming from registration, sponsorship and the brick drive. Reports were available at meeting 

Next meeting will be held March 4^th  8:00pm at The New 5^th Base.
