MBSA Meeting Minutes 2/6/2007

 President’s Report

·        John Casey (Head H.S. Baseball Coach) and his players will conduct clinics for the majors, minors and the nines. Dates will be set shortly.  The clinics for 7 & 8’s will be run by Phil Whitman and those dates will also be set shortly.

·        The latest 5^th Base status is that a check list to get the current 5^th Base up and running had been established. In general the repairs are minor and the MBSA will need volunteers to help clean it up and do some of the repairs to keep expenses to a minimum.

·        Plans are in place to begin construction on the new 5^th Base which will reside behind the existing one. The latest start date is July 1^st pending the move of the existing Animal Shelter to an area behind the new 5^th base. The goal is to have a new 5^th Base up and running for the 2008 season. The MBSA requests the presence of parents/players to show support at any upcoming township meetings that has 5^th Base on the agenda. Some type of notification will be sent out. 

·        New field tractor has been purchased for $10,000. Access to tractor will be limited.  

·        Registration is still going on. Numbers are low in some age levels.

·        Coaches MUST BE certified. Certification course will be held every Tuesday in March. See MBSA website http://www.montvilleyouthsports.com/~baseball/index.html for details.

·        Coaches will be responsible for distributing and collecting code of conduct forms . A signed form for each player by a parent/guardian is MANDATORY to play.

·        Sponsorships are low at this time. They are currently at 34 and 70 is the target number.

·        Field cleanup will be 3/24/07. Volunteers will be needed to prepare the fields.

 ·        Next meeting is MONDAY March 5^th at 8:00pm. (No prior Board Meeting) THE MEETING WILL BE AT THE COMMUNITY PARK FIELD HOUSE. There will be a second meeting on March 27^th also at the Field House. The meeting will begin at 7:30 for Board Members and 8:00pm for general discussion.

Treasurer’s Report

·        There is $129,150 in the MBSA bank account.

·        Current MBSA financial report was made available at meeting

Baseball & Softball Reports

·        Travel uniforms for spring are on schedule. They are due to arrive at Class Act shortly.

·        Registrations are moving a long. See MBSA website for clinic information
