MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date:  December 1, 2009

Attendance:  15+

 Meeting called to order at 7:30pm

 President’s Report: 

•Online registration will be in place for this season.  Online registration will be credit card only.  2 in person dates for anyone who does not want to pay by credit cards.  Dates will be 1/23 and 2/6 from 10am to 12pm at 5^th base.

 •Fundraisers: 

Car Raffle- Still obtaining the needed information to run this event.  Will be discussed/voted on at January meeting.

 •Nets are going to be installed at the backstops on all 3 fields for foul balls.

 •Muni 1 will be getting nets along the 1^st and 3^rd base baselines.

 •Discussion regarding fixing up elementary school fields.  Hilldale currently having a retaining wall built and an access road was put in this summer making it the most likely school to be done first.  The option will also be explored for William Mason.

 •MBSA exploring the possibility of adding another batting cage. 

 Sponsors: 

•Joe Monetti has paid sponsors for 11 teams and 7 signs.  There are verbal commitments for 10 more teams.  More are needed.

 Softball:   

•Michelle Fund has 44 teams registered so far.  Considering taking up to 52 teams. 2 more people needed to help chair event.  Contact John Hill or Bob Shalongo with interest.

 •Travel teams are winter training at Frozen Ropes.

 •Rec softball exploring the option of offering training at Frozen Ropes in addition to High School Clinics.

 Baseball:

•Travel tryouts are completed.  The team for 13/14 year olds will be posted online this week.

 •Spring league teams have already begun registering.

 •Travel Teams, except the 11’s, will be doing winter training at the re-opened Frozen Ropes.

 Treasurer:

• Approximately $38,000 in the account.  Bills have been paid including new fence.

•Team sponsorships and Michelle Fund registrations have be coming in.

 The next MBSA meeting will be Tuesday, January 5^th at 7:30pm.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05pm.
