MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date: 04/01/08 – 8:00pm at 5^th Base Building

Attendance: 60 plus

President’s Report:

·        Diana Higgins is the new Treasurer. Contact her at Dianahiggins@verizon.net if you need money deposited, bills paid or reimbursements.

·        Pathways contributed $1200 to MBSA from Home Run Derby

·        We have received notice of 501C3 status. Corporation matches are now an option.

·        E-Mail has been set up. We can reach entire organization.

·        Opening Day volunteers are needed. Please contact Larry Manfra at larman@optonline.net if you’re interested in helping out.

·        4th of July Parking – This year every coach will be given a timeslot and if they cannot make it they will be responsible for getting a team representative.

·        Sponsorship Update (Tim Holmes) –  All team sponsorships are sold out. We are still accepting field signs.

·        Brick Drive Project Update (Diana Higgins) – Over 106 bricks have been ordered and $14,400 dollars as be raised so far. Spread the word that Bricks can be bought throughout the season and that at the moment there is no deadline date.

·        5^th Base Update (Larry Manfra) –  Finishing touches will be done next week, paving and polishing the floor.

·        Coaches Certification REMINDER: Please contact Maryann Witty at Montville Recreation to register for Coaching Certification training. All coaches need to be certified.

Softball Report:

·        All teams are complete and practice schedules are out.

·        Michelle Sullivan Fund Tournament is sold out.

·        Tim Braden will assist with opening day.

Baseball Report:

·        All teams complete and practice schedules are out.

·        Summer Tryout dates will be posted on website & sent via e-mail. One tryout per age group.

Treasurer’s Report:

·        Current balance is  $129,522 as of 3/31/08

Next 2 meetings will be held on Sundays due to the start of the season.

May 4th and June 1^st - 7:30pm at the 5^th Base Meeting Room.
