MBSA Meeting Minutes

Date:  April 14, 2009

Attendance:  20+

Meeting called to order at 8:10pm

President’s Report: 

§         The lights will be in and ready for opening day.  The new control panel will not be ready for another month, but the old panel will work the new lights and existing scoreboards.

§         Everything is set for opening day ceremonies and parade. An email will be sent to all families with the details.  Coaches should be at Lazar by 9:15am for the parade.  Children are to be dropped off at 9:30am.

§         Head of Field Maintenance requests that each team fill in any holes after each game, especially around the pitcher’s mound and the batter’s box.

§         Coaches are reminded to follow safety rules during practices and that proper protective equipment must be used at all practices.

§         Sponsors:  61 signs have been purchased, but more are still needed.  Joe Monetti sent out an email to all families about sponsorship.

Treasurer’s Report:

§         Current balance is $175,000.  Payment for lights and field maintenance still need to be paid.

Baseball:

§         Summer travel tryouts will be as follows:

May 1st      9's   A and B teams      5:30-7:30pm      ( Valley View School Field)

May 2nd    10's  A and B teams      9:00am-11:00am  ( Valley View School Field) 

May 2nd    11's  A and B teams     11:30am-1:30pm   ( Valley View School Field)

May 2nd    12's    B team only         2:00pm-4:00pm    ( Valley View School Field)

May 17th    8's    A team only          6:30pm-8:30pm     ( Muni Fields)

Softball: 

Nothing new to report.

General Public Participation:  A concern about securing the base of the pitcher’s mound on Muni 1 and 3 was brought up by coaches who played on the fields this year.  Dodgson Landscaping will look at the bases of each and make recommendations.

The next MBSA meeting is at Sunday, May 3^rd at 8pm at 5^th Base.
