The 12th Annual Michelle Fund

Fast Pitch Softball Tournament 

Montville Township Baseball & Softball Association (MBSA) will hold its 12th annual girls fast pitch softball tournament in honor of Michelle Sullivan, a former Montville softball player who passed away tragically.  The tournament’s date will be the weekend of April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd (no rain date).

 Divisions:        10 & U – cannot turn 11 before January 1, 2010

                        12 & U – cannot turn 13 before January 1, 2010

                        14 & U – cannot turn 15 before January 1, 2010

 Format:  Four (4) games minimum, weather permitting.  Three (3) game round robin on Friday and Saturday; single elimination on Sunday.  Tournament Director reserves the right to change the format in the event of bad weather.

 Tournament Seeding for Sunday:  1. Overall won/lost record; 2. Ties broken by head-to-head record (if teams played each other) & only 2 teams tied; 3. Fewest runs allowed; and 4. Coin toss.
 

Entry Fee:  $485.00 per team.  Make checks payable to Montville Baseball & Softball Association and mail to:

Locations:  Montville, NJ – Municipal Field complex (3 fields), Montville High School (2 fields), Lazar Middle School (2 fields), Etta Konner, Mazar Field, Reilly Field, Valley View Elementary School, Woodmont Elementary School.

Facilities:  Municipal Field complex has full concessions at 5th Base for food and drink with a playground and bathroom facilities are on site. 

Awards:  Individual trophies for 1st place and medals for 2nd place in each division.

Insurance:  Each team shall provide their own insurance and must provide a certificate of insurance to the Tournament Director before their first game.
 

Registration Requirements:  1. Copy of insurance certificate; 2. completed team roster with a maximum of 15 players; proof of each player’s age (either a copy of their birth certificate or alternate age verification) which must be kept in the coach’s possession;
3. Registration fee paid in full; and 4. Executed registration form.
