Game Recaps

Montville lost its next game to N. Caldwell by a large margin.

Although we lost to W Caldwell, there were some hits in today's game. There
were singles hit by Brian, Joe G., Andrew, Anthony, and TJ. Eddie had a nice
catch at first base.

The team really had a good game to Totowa, although they lost with a score of
8 - 4. There was plenty of hits this game. Mike and Brian both had nice
doubles, Joe A. came through with a great bunt, scoring an RBI, TJ had and
RBI single, Venanzio and Andrew both drove in RBIs, and Marc and Eddie both singled. There was some real nice fielding by the team. Joe G. caught two
pop ups to short stop. Brian had a great catch at short stop also. There
was a great relay play of Venanzio to Brian to Eddie to get the runner out at
home. Great team effort was shown in today's game.

Although the score was 12 - 6 in Kinnelon's favor, the game was a very close
and exciting game. The bats were on fire with just about everyone getting
hits. Eddie had a great double, driving in 2 RBIs. Anthony had 2 hits
driving in 2 RBIs. In the field, the relay of Devon to Andrew to Eddie made
a fantastic double play.

History was made on July 10 at the Verona White game. Andrew L. was the
first 10 year old to drive the ball over the fence (Left field) for a home
run. Great job Andrew! Verona came on strong and played a hard game. Eddie had a nice single for 1 RBI. In the field, Anthony had a great catch in
center field and Devon caught a pop up on the pitchers mound.

Montclair National came in and did their job, defeating Montville by a
sizable margin.Hang in there boys. You need to get tough.

The team suffered it's second regular season loss to a very
strong N. Caldwell team. With this loss, the team's record now stands at 2-2.  N. Caldwell 21, Montville 3

The 10U American Travel Team celebrated with another victory last night.
They defeated Fairfield with a score of 18-7. The bats were on fire last
night as each player had at least one hit, many had several hits. The big
hitter of the game was Anthony. With an in the park home run and 2 doubles,
he had more to celebrate than just his birthday. The fielding was
outstanding also. Garrett made an awesome diving catch in left field. Our
catcher, Eddie, made a great throw to 2nd base to throw out the runner trying
to steal. TJ was incredible at short stop, not allowing any balls to get by
him. The whole team really came together to play a very exciting game.

The Montville 10U American team suffered their first loss to Cedar Grove on
Saturday, June 24.

The Montville American 10u team got off to a great start. They defeated the
Livingston team with a score of 4 - 1. Venanzio started off pitching for
Montville, allowing only 1 run in. Garrett pitched the next 2 innings
without any runs scoring. Joe G. closed the game with 2 more scoreless
innings. There were some great fielding plays during the game. TJ had a
great catch at 3rd base and Marc caught a high pop out to left field.
Garrett made a double play to end the 2nd inning, while Mike made a nice play
to 1st from 2nd to end the game. Offensively the team did well. Marc had 2
nice hits and Garrett had an awesome double. The boys really pulled together
and showed a lot of spirit and teamwork. Keep it up!
