Montville ended its summer season today after a heart-breaking lose to
Roseland in the Suburban League playoffs. Stranding runners in scoring
position plagued them all game.
The coaches and parents would like to thank the players for an excellent
season and would like to let them know how proud we are of them.

Montville's final game of the Suburban League against Glen Ridge resulted
in a win. Highlights of the game included Ryan Ventura's three run
homerun and Slade Eigenmann's diving catch in left field.

Montville defeated a pesky East Hanover today. Montville scored six runs
in the first inning and added two more over the course of the game. East
Hanover fought back in the bottom of the sixth to come within two, however
coming up short in the end.

Montville bounced back from a morning lose to Livingston to defeat 8-0 Verona-maroon.
An offensive contribution from the bottom of the line-up aided in the win.

Montville was defeated by Livingston today. The lead seesaw thru out the
game. An unfortunate error at the bottom of the sixth inning allowed the
winning run for Livingston to cross home plate.

Montville faced and beat Westfield in the finals of the Montville Invitational Tournament. It was a total team effort that resulted in this lopsided win. Highlights of this game included a combined shutout pitching performance by Matt Chierici and Jamie Wallace. Joey Adami's triple and two doubles, Ryan Ventura's triple lead the offense.

Montville had the pleasure of playing Cedar Grove again in Suburban
League play. For the second time, Montville came away with the win, even
though Cedar Grove was able to tie the score in the top of the sixth
inning.

Montville lost its first game in the Montville Invitational Tournament to
Wyckoff. Wyckoff took the lead in the first inning and never relinquished
it. Montville had many opportunities to tie or go ahead, but came up
short.

Montville's second game of the M.I.T. resulted in a hard fought
victory over a stubborn Cedar Grove team. Pat Bryne's six RBI's and Dylan
Devereux four innings of stellar pitching facilitated the win. Although,
the real spark came from the return of Matt Chierici and Ryan Ventura
following a one game absence. Assistant coach Jean Deveruex was grateful
for their return and wasted no time inserting them back into the
line-up for the whole game.
