NEW BASEBALL SITE

Montville Baseball Association Announcements

The MBSA will be holding 2007 Spring Travel tryouts on  Saturday November 4, 2006 at the Muni fields.
 

The times will be as follows:

 

12U    10:00am

11U    12 Noon

9U       2:00pm

10U     4:00pm

The Montville U10 Team won the Cal Ripkin District 7 Championship
 on July 2nd in a 7-6 win over Mount Olive.  Montville jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first, only to have Mt. Olive claim a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the 3rd.  Montville answered back with 3 in the top of the 4th.  Then in the top of the 6th, Montville took the lead with 2 runs and shut Mt. Olive down in the bottom of the inning to secure the championship!

Montville 11U Spring Travel Team wins Mt. Olive Memorial Day Tournament
Montville 11U went undefeated in the Mt. Olive Memorial Day Tournament going 6-0 to take the 1st place trophy.

Montville started out with a 14- 3 opening game win against North Caldwell.
They then took on a tough Montclair Bulldog team and won 5-4. In the final seeding game of the tournament Montville faced the Randolph Orioles and won 6-1.  The first round of the playoffs had Montville facing North Caldwell and the final score was  12-2 for another Montville win.  The semi finals was a tight game between Montville and Readington that had Readington leading the game into the 6th inning by a score of 3-1, but in the bottom of the 6th Montville scored 3 runs to win.  The championship had Montville facing the host town Mt. Olive. The Montville team took an early 1 nothing lead then fell behind 3-1 but quickly came back and took a 6-3 lead then added a run to make the score 7-3. Mt. Olive managed just one run and 2 hits over the final 4 innings and Montville won the championship 7-4

SPRING 2006 U11 TEAM WINS EAST HANOVER PRE-SEASON TOURNY

The Montville 11 year olds started out their season on a very high note by going undefeated and winning this tournament by defeating Montclair 5-4 in the championship.

OPENING DAY THIS YEAR IS SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2006
PARADE SCHEDULE:
ALL COACHES SHOULD ASSEMBLE AT THE LAZAR SCHOOL
OUTER DRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:00 AM SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 8TH. PLAYERS ARE TO BE TOLD TO ARRIVE STARTING AT 9:15 AM. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL COACHES BE PRESENT BEFOR PLAYERS ARRIVE. MOST PARENTS WILL NOT DROP OFF THEIR CHILDREN UNLESS THEY CAN SEE THEIR COACH WAITING FOR PLAYERS TO ARRIVE. THIS CAUSES A JAM-UP IN THE OUTER DRIVE OF APPREHENSIVE PARENTS AND PARKED CARS OF WHICH THERE IS NO ROOM FOR. PLEASE TRY TO ADHERE TO THIS SCHEDULE.

PARADE: WILL START PROMPTLY AT 10:00 AM. (AT THAT POINT CHANGEBRIDGE ROAD WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC) PARKING IS AVAILABLE ACROSS THE STREET AT THE SOCCER FIELDS AND TRANSPORTATION WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE MUNIS FROM THERE VIA SENIOR CITIZEN BUSES. THEY WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT BACK TO THE SOCCER FIELDS FOLLOWING THE OPENING DAY ACTIVITIES. ALL BASEBALL TEAMS START THE PARADE FOLLOWED BY THE SOFTBALL TEAMS. THIS ORDER IS NECESARY TO CORRECTLY ASSEMBLE THE TEAMS ON MUNI 1.

BASEBALL PICTURE DAY: SATURDAY, APRIL 15-STARTING AT 9:00 AM. ALL COACHES WILL BE NOTIFIED BY PHONE FOR APPOINTED TIMES.

SOFTBALL PICTURE DAY: NO SET DATE OR TIME HAS BEEN SCHEDUELED YET.

JOHN REGAN IS TRYING TO SET THE DATE.

WE ARE STILL TRYING TO GET THE SERVICES OF A MARCHING BAND TO LEAD THE PARADE-HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HAPPEN. IF ANYONE CAN HELP LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
